In Vietnam, plastic waste has become a critical issue. An estimated 1.8 million tons of plastic waste are generated each year, yet only around 27% is recycled. The large volume of untreated plastic waste is placing significant pressure on the country’s waste management infrastructure, contributing to increasing soil, water, and air pollution.
In response, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment has issued an official directive to launch a nationwide campaign in celebration of World Environment Day and Action Month for the Environment 2025, under the unified theme:
“Join hands to reduce plastic waste – Spread green living.”
This year’s campaign features a series of practical activities designed to raise awareness, encourage behavior change, and promote social responsibility among organizations and businesses—paving the way toward sustainable development.
