Operating principle
The super shallow flotation tank when operating needs an additional high-pressure wastewater tank called a pressure tank. Part of the wastewater after flotation will be put into this tank and air will be compressed here at a pressure of several atmospheres to dissolve into the wastewater.
Then, the water from the pressure tank will be mixed into the wastewater that needs to be flotation and put into the flotation tank (atmospheric pressure). At this time, the amount of air dissolved in the wastewater at pressure will be released back into the atmosphere in the form of small air bubbles. These air bubbles will adhere to the solid particles, creating a force to lift these solid particles to the surface of the tank, then these solids are removed by the skimmer system.

ADVANTAGES AND DISADVANTAGES OF FLOTATION TANK

- If the DAF tank is well designed and the coagulant is used properly, the SS removal efficiency can reach 95 - 99%;
- If the input grease is from 1,000 - 16,000 mg/L, the output can be 5 mg/L (commonly about 15 mg/L).
