EPR

Nanoen – EPR is considered an effective tool to promote and maintain a circular economy. The goal of EPR is to influence changes in manufacturers' habits in using raw materials and product design to gradually reduce and optimize the cost of collecting and recycling products and packaging after use.

Accordingly, organizations and individuals that produce or import certain products and goods must be responsible for recycling products and packaging or making financial contributions to support recycling activities.

The Law on Environmental Protection 2020 has come into effect since January 1, 2022. The Government has also issued Decree No. 08/2022/ND-CP dated January 10, 2022 and the Minister of Natural Resources and Environment has issued Circular No. 02/2022/TT-BTNMT dated January 10, 2022 detailing the implementation of a number of articles of the Law on Environmental Protection. In particular, the responsibility for recycling and waste treatment of manufacturers and importers is specifically regulated in Articles 54 and 55 of the Law on Environmental Protection; Chapter VI and Appendix 22, Appendix 23 of Decree No. 08/2022/ND-CP and Article 78, Article 79 and Appendix 9 of Circular No. 02/2022/TT-BTNMT.
